For many years, Apple has dominated the smartphone market. As the world’s largest watchmaker, it’s no surprise that Apple Watch models continue to be the most popular. According to a new Counterpoint Research report, Apple accounted for roughly half of the market among HLOS – high-level OS – smartwatches in Q3 2022.
The smartwatch show’s star
According to Counterpoint Research, Apple’s year-over-year sales increased 48% due to the recently released Apple Watch Series 8. In fact, according to Counterpoint, the new Watch Series 8 “accounted for about 56% of overall shipments” in Q3 2022, implying that every second smartwatch sold in the world was an Apple Watch Series 8. In fact, Apple accounted for roughly half of the HLOS smartwatch market in Q3 2022. Apple Watch Series 8 is yet another solid smartwatch upgrade from Cupertino’s Apple Park. While Apple did not make many changes in comparison to the Watch Series 7, it did include a new body temperature sensor. The Apple Watch Series 8 includes new temperature-sensing capabilities that provide women with additional information about their health.
Users can receive retrospective ovulation estimates using the new temperature-sensing capabilities in the Apple Watch Series 8. Knowing when ovulation occurred can be useful for family planning, and Apple Watch Series 8 makes it simple and convenient by including these estimates in the Health app.
Apple Watch Series 8 is available in aluminum and stainless steel cases in 41mm and 45mm sizes and is compatible with all bands. Apple Watch Series 8 aluminum case colors include starlight, midnight, silver, and (PRODUCT) RED, while stainless steel case colors include silver, graphite, and gold.
