Google Maps is something that comes in handy and is very useful when traveling. The good news is that it is now also available on Fitbit watches. Fitbit Sense 2 and Fitbit Versa 4 smartwatch owners will be able to use Google Maps. However, the update is only available for Android phones; iPhone users will have to wait until 2023, which is not far away.

If you have the official Fitbit app on your smartphone, you will notice a Google Maps option in the profile section. When you tap it, the app prompts you to enable Google Maps navigation on your Fitbit device. When you’re finished configuring your watch, you’ll see Maps in the app list. You will be required to grant the app some permissions. However, it does not appear to work as intended, according to a 9to5Mac report.

According to reports, people are getting basic features. Fitbit users will be able to drive using Google Maps, which will be enabled automatically. This auto-start feature, however, is not available for walking or cycling. People can change the settings to use Maps for different purposes. Fitbit’s companion app has access to the feature, implying that the company has yet to enable step-by-step navigation on the smartwatches.

It is important to remember that navigation must begin with an Android smartphone, which means you must carry your device with you at all times and cannot use Maps with the smartwatch. This also implies that you must ensure that your watch does not become disconnected from the phone.

The Google Maps app is rarely found on smartwatches. They are also absent from popular watches from Amazfit, Xiaomi, and Garmin. Some Samsung watches include it to provide users with a more enjoyable and convenient experience. The Fitbit Sense 2 and Versa 4 are aimed at users seeking all-around performance and are priced at Rs 20,499 and Rs 24,999, respectively.

The Fitbit Sense 2 can monitor your sleeping habits and stress levels. It can record activities and sleep patterns. It also has 40 different exercise modes, GPS, heart rate tracking, skin temperature measurement, and a new body response sensor. The Versa 4 also includes ECG tracking. The watches do not run Google’s WearOS.
