Along with the feature drop for Pixels, the Google Pixel Watch is starting to receive its December 2022 update.

The December 2022 update has begun rolling out to all Pixel Watch devices running Wear OS 3.5, according to Google’s official update post. According to the company, users should start seeing notifications about the new update on their watches soon and should update as soon as possible. Version RWD9.220429.070 is available globally, while version RWD9.220429.070.J1 is available in Japan and Taiwan.

The December patch appears to be light. When compared to the Pixel Watch’s November update with improved Fitbit integration, Google isn’t throwing much at us this time around.

This month, Pixel watch owners will see improvements in the calling department. Google has released a patch to address any issues with its hands-free profile (HFP) calling. The settings have been improved by adding single-tap support for enabling or disabling the watch’s battery-saving feature.

A fix for the device’s watch faces is also on the way. There were apparently issues with certain pieces not displaying the correct data, which should now be resolved. The company has also included a fix for Fitbit Exercise, which had the exercise layout cut off from users’ view at times.

Google has made it clear that the rollout of this update will continue from today for the next few weeks. As always, if your watch has not notified you of an update, you can manually check for it by swiping down on your watch face and going to Settings > System > System Update.

Allow your watch a few moments to check for an update, and it will begin downloading it if one is available.

Today, Pixel phones began receiving the December feature drop, which also includes a little something for the Pixel Watch. Fitbit Premium’s animal sleep profiles for the Pixel Watch, which were announced in November, are included in this update. Fitbit will match your sleeping habits with a Giraffe, Bear, Dolphin, Hedgehog, Parrot, or Tortoise after you have worn your watch for at least 14 nights.

The Pixel Watch combines all of Google’s helpfulness with the best of Fitbit’s health-focused software. Google’s first smartwatch allows you to control your smart home devices directly from your wrist. The Fitbit integration provides you with health insights based on your heart rate, sleep, and exercise data.
